Overview
ACCADEMIA ITALIANA DI IMPLANTO PROTESI (AIIP) in collaboration with UNIVERSIDAD DE CIENCIA MEDICA, ESCUELA DE ESTOMATOLOGIA, LA HABANA (UCM-H)
organizes intensive courses divided into: 4 theoretical days (Brescia) and 2 consecutive practical weeks on patients (La Habana).
The available places are 8 and the next calendar is fixed: theory: on days 8-9 May and 12-13 June 2020 practice: from 22 June to 3 July 2020

Cost of the course € 7,000 + VAT,
in addition € 500 must be paid in place for the university tuition.
The participation fee includes all the teaching material made available by the tutors, the implants with all the prosthetic components, laboratory material for the construction of the prosthesis, on-site assistance. Does not include flight and stay.
Course Objective
Acquire and improve the surgical skills inherent in “General Oral Surgery and Oral Implantology” for the treatment of both simple and more complex clinical cases. Students will perform surgery on selected patients and each one according to the level of individual preparation.
Students during the clinical practice phase will be followed and directed by qualified tutors, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, experts in the field of Oral Implantology and teachers at the School of Dentistry “Raul Gonzales Sanchez” in La Habana (CUBA).

THEORICAL PART – BRESCIA (ITALIA)
I° MEETING
1) Friday 9.00am-01.00pm:Anatomy of the Splancno-skulls
14.00-17.00: Basic elements in biology of peri-implant hard and soft tissues
2) Saturday 9.00-13.00: Surgery of the impacted teeth, 2.00pm-5.00pm: Patient planning in oral surgery and implantology
II° MEETING
1) Friday 9.00am-01.00pm: Elements of surgical technique, crest conservation techniques 14.00-17.00: Hands on Training, the sutures
2) Saturday 9.00am-01.00pm: Post extraction implant, severe atrophies, surgical correction techniques. 2.00pm-5.00pm: Prosthesis on implant. Clinic and laboratory.
PRATICAL PART – LA HABANA (CUBA)
Two consecutive weeks of surgical practice on selected patients at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the School of Dentistry of the University of La Habana
Material to bring for the course
Proper clothing for the pratice of the profession, trousers, jacket, clogs or tennis shoes
– 20 sterile paper gowns
– 2 packs of non-sterile gloves (100 pairs)
– 20 nose mouth masks
– 20 cuffie
– 20 sterile sheets 50x 50
– magnification systems + LED light.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS KIT:
Autoclavable tool box 12 instruments (Hu-friedy, IMECC12), 1 pritchard-type periosteum scolla and 1 Kramer-Nevis PKN16, Hu-Friedy CP 15 periodontal probe, Hu-Friedy TP 5051 or TP 43 surgical tweezers, needle holder (castroviejo o mathieu), chisel diRoth C-36-37, Goldman-Fox Hu-Friedy KGF 86, Universal wire retractor with horseshoe end and one Sternberg type, scalpel handle, blade holder, scissors, mirror
– 10 PTFE 3/0 sutures
– 10 resorbable 4/0 sutures
– 10 blades 15, 10 blades 15c and 10 blades 12.
– 50 anesthetic tubofiale with vasoconstrictor (ARTICAINA CHLORIDRATO + ADRENALINA 1: 100000) OMNIA.
– 30 needles for anesthesia
– Carpule syringe
– tacks to fix the membranes (who owns the system)
– 2 conf. Biomaterial (bio-oss or similar)
– 3 resorbable membranes
– 1handpiece for 16: 1 or 20: 1 implants (green ring)
– 1 straight handpiece with relative cutter for leveling the bone crest
FOR THE ADVANCED COURSE:
Tools for elevation of the sinus membrane, systematic forosteosynthesis screws.
